Monthly review

Make time to understand the reports, identify questions and agree the next practical step.

Begin with current reports

A monthly review is a conversation about the bookkeeping already prepared for the period. Look at changes, balances that need explaining and questions worth following up. It does not verify every transaction or replace an audit.

Bring a clear set of questions

Agree which reports will be discussed, who prepares them and the meeting format. Separate any corrections or catch-up bookkeeping from the review itself. Underlying financial records should be shared through an agreed private channel after engagement.

Leave with the next steps

Record the questions still open, the person responsible for each action and what needs to be checked next. A review helps make the information easier to discuss; it does not predict cash flow, recommend investments or guarantee savings.
