How the scope is set
The number of accounts, transaction volume and condition of past records all matter. Agree which periods and reports are covered, and whether catch-up work is needed. Tax filing, audits and specialist advice are outside this example scope.
Payroll support and monthly review are quoted separately; they are not included in the monthly bookkeeping example.
Agree the timing
An enquiry starts a conversation about the work and a possible start date. It does not reserve a meeting or commit either side to an engagement.
Example terms — replace before launch: recurring monthly work can end with 30 days’ written notice. Agree timing or scope changes in writing. Replace this example with your actual engagement terms.
